The Gabriela property is 100% owned by Savant. A portion of the property, referred to as the Yuby claims is subject to Xstrata's back-in right to earn 50% of Savant's interest in the property by spending 2.5 times Savant's expenditure on the property. The earn back provision covers the Pinchazo and Corobre targets.

The Yuby-Gabriela property hosts three priority porphyry copper targets. The Gabriela property is well located along a major highway and power transmission lines approximately 60 kilometres north of BHP Billiton's Spence mine (annual production of 200,000 tonnes of copper) and 40 kilometres west of Codelco's Chuqicamata mine.


Savant's initial field and data review of the Gabriela property in 2007 concluded that the property is of much higher priority than previously supposed and is an exploration priority for the company. Based on the data from past exploration by Westmin Resources and from the field examination of outcrops and drill cuttings, three targets for porphyry copper mineralization are confirmed. The targets are referred to as Pinchazo, Corobre and Corobre Extension. In addition to the defined targets, only 25% of the property has been systematically explored by geophysical surveys and drilling. Much of the unexplored part of the property is covered by recent gravels and other drill targets may exist in this unexplored area.

All of the known targets occur in Cretaceous-age andesitic volcanic rocks that are intruded by younger Cretaceous to Eocene intrusive rocks. The Pinchazo target is a 1500 by 900 metre area of poorly exposed leached capping tested to an average vertical depth of 180 metres. Copper and copper gold mineralization associated with clay- sericite alteration or enargite bearing hydrothermal breccias is present. The enargite-bearing hydrothermal breccia is interpreted to be a late stage, lower temperature overprint. Copper values in the hypogene mineralization from the lower most part of the holes are anomolous for copper with values ranging from 0.025% to 0.31% copper. The low but consistent copper values, clay and sericite alteration with late stage low-temperature energite bearing hydrothermal breccias suggests that the previous drilling tested only the peripheral upper part of a porphyry system. The system has not been adequately tested at depths greater than 200 metres and a large target exists below the current level of drilling for a higher grade, copper-molybdenum and or copper-gold porphyry deposit. High-grade hypogene porphyry copper mineralization is known to occur elsewhere beneath similar alteration and low-grade mineralization such as BHP Billiton's and Rio Tinto's Resolution deposit in Arizona.

The Corobre target occurs 2 kilometres southeast of Pinchazo and is centred on a 900 by 500 metre >20mV/V gradient array induced polarization anomaly underlain by strongly leached, andesite volcanic rocks cut by tourmaline and hydrothermal breccias. Three holes drilled peripherally to the anomaly, cut pyritized, chloritized or clay-sericite altered andesite with anomalous values of copper (>125 ppm). The type of alteration exposed in out crops with in the anomaly, combined with the alteration and anomalous copper values in the peripheral drill holes indicate excellent potential for copper mineralization at depth.






To the southeast of Corobre, the induced polarization anomaly remains open and appears to be building in strength. In this direction, there is no outcrop exposure and no geophysical survey coverage. The closest 3 hole define an untested area more than 2 by 2 kilometres. The peripheral holes intersected a variety of andesitic volcanic rocks containing pyrite and variable intensities of chloritic alteration with anomalous levels of copper. The type of alteration in the peripheral holes and the low but anomalous copper content are similar to that found in the periphery of the Spence deposit located 60 kilometres to the south. The 2 by 2 kilometre gravel covered area is a high priority target for enriched copper porphyry mineralization and deeper, high-grade hypogene mineralization. On recently acquired ground to the south and south east of 2 by 2 kilometre gravel area are shallow (<200m long), historic drill hole reported to have intersected chloritized and pyritic rock similar to those drill in the Corobre target. No IP surveying has been done in this area.

In August 2008, Savant tested the Corobre and Pinchazo with two drill holes totaling 1,229m.

The initial target drilled was the Corobre where a single hole tested what Savant's technical team believes to be the upper part of a buried porphyry copper and molybdenum mineralized body at depth. The hole was drilled to 662 metres, the depth capacity of the drilling rig. The hole appears to have reached the upper part of a porphyry copper and molybdenum mineralized body. The casing was left in place to allow for later deepening of the hole. A second hole was drilled in to the Pinchazo target, located 2 kilometres to the north west of the Corobre target, where previous shallow drilling encountered low copper values in what Savant's technical team interprets to be the upper part of a second porphyry system. The Pinchazo hole was drilled to a depth of 567 metres where it was lost due to fault related drilling complications prior to reaching its planned minimum depth of 650 metres. As in the case of the Corobre target, the hole had entered porphyry copper-type mineralization and continued in porphyry copper mineralization to the end of the hole.

Having largely confirmed our geologic exploration model with the results from these initial two drill holes, it was decided that drilling of the third planned hole south of the Corobre Target would be postponed to a later date. In late 2009, Savant's management decided to complete the induced polarization surveying over the 75% of the property not previously tested. The induced polarization survey was initiated in late November 2009 and completed by mid December, 2009 results of the survey show the chargeability anomaly to extend an additional 500m to the south.


Samples of drill cores from the holes is shown below along with histograms showing variations of Copper and Molybdenum. The results of the drilling are summerized in the tables below:
